  • Work week: 36 hours, at least 32 hours is a strict requirement.

  • As a building inspector, you play a crucial role in the implementation of construction plans, such as dormer windows, extensions, Heem van Selis, or Harperhof.
  • Please note: We are seeking a highly experienced freelancer for these tasks. It is essential that you can start independently in this role right away.

What you will be doing:

  • You will oversee the execution of construction plans in the municipalities of Boxtel and Sint-Michielsgestel.
  • You will independently carry out on-site work and can always brainstorm with colleagues.
  • You will provide advice on demolition and construction safety plans.
  • While traveling to construction sites, you will stay alert to issues such as illegal constructions, unauthorized usage, and permit-exempt construction. If you notice anything, you will address it.
  • You will maintain our municipal administration. Any observations made outside will be recorded in our systems. One of the systems we use is CLO; Additionally, we extensively use Teams.
  • You will prepare written reports in consultation with enforcement lawyers. These reports often pertain to illegal situations or nuisance issues they are handling.
  • You will collaborate with the most fantastic colleagues, including permit officers, enforcement lawyers discussing various situations. You will also engage with great colleagues from other teams, like those from the Building Records Administration, as you may have observed matters outdoors relevant to their tasks.

Who are you?

  • Intermediate Vocational Education (MBO+) or Higher Professional Education (HBO) level, preferably with a background in Construction.
  • You have knowledge of the Quality Assurance Act and Environmental Law.
  • You can interpret construction drawings.
  • You are proactive in finding practical and innovative solutions.
  • You quickly identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks, turning them into practical or innovative solutions.

The Team

The Permitting, Inspection, and Enforcement (PIE) team is responsible for policy implementation in the physical domain across the mentioned areas.

PIE consists of 30-35 individuals, including building and environmental inspectors, lawyers, permit officers, environmental law employees, and administrative staff. We are all driven to serve our customers and address their inquiries as effectively as possible. This entails brainstorming with our customers and providing advice on available options. The team environment is informal and positive. The level of expertise in the team is high, and collectively we work towards achieving our goals.
