Mountain and Trail Business Unit Buyer

We are on a mission to protect our precious planet and your role will be crucial in leading the Mountain and trail product categories across the EMEA region. Your main focus will involve close collaboration with key stakeholders including Channel Merchandising, Demand Planning, Sales, Marketing, and Global product teams to curate the perfect assortment for all channels (wholesale, retail, and ecommerce) for Alpine, Snow, Trails, Hike & Equipment, ensuring that the Mountain Business Unit reaches its targets.

You will be the go-to expert for technical product categories, ensuring a unified product vision across all EMEA channels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define the optimal assortment and product strategy for your Business Unit across all EMEA channels, gather product feedback, and update the Global product teams.
  • Conduct research and analyze data and market insights to understand consumer needs, benchmark against industry competitors, and ensure competitiveness and best practices.
  • Price the product line in all currencies under the guidance of the BU Buying Manager, analyze margins and profitability of your categories to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Channel Merchandising and Demand Planning teams on Mountain & Trail BU product launches, EMEA strategies, future direction, and initial forecasts.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels across channels in direct coordination with dedicated teams.
  • Deliver seasonal product presentations for key Go-To-Market (GTM) milestones, Customer Service, and PR agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of a GTM seasonal strategy for your categories with sales & marketing support.
  • Collaborate closely with wholesale, retail, and ecommerce sales and merchandising teams to optimize category presence in every channel.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure a solid marketing strategy aligns with category objectives and supports all product and community initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in environmental conservation and making a positive impact through work.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, buying, or product merchandising within the outdoor apparel industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of the outdoor market landscape in the EMEA region, especially in alpine & snow categories.
  • Keen eye for market trends, including color trends, with a data-driven and analytical approach.
  • Proficient in Excel and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to think cross-functionally, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working across the EMEA region or in multiple countries.
  • Previous experience in an international or US HQ environment is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English, additional European languages are a plus.
  • Passion for the outdoors, particularly mountains.
