Inhoud functie
To strengthen our team for the Information Technology program, we are looking for a Communication Skills lecturer, Study Coach and Coordinator. The team consists of 25 internationally orientated colleagues who possess various (technical) expertise's such as software development, interaction design, Data & AI and communication skills. With a mix of theoretical and practice-oriented education, we provide our 450 students with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. Our students acquire positions in the IT sector, ranging from software developer, cloud engineer, mobile app developer, data & AI engineer to cybersecurity specialist. Approximately 40% of our students have an international background and our common language is English.

Jouw rol
You are a Lecturer - You will give inspiring lectures in professional & communication skills. This enables you to bring in your innovative mindset to improve the students presentation skills, interview techniques, research and written reporting. During these lectures you will make use of varied and activating teaching methods, in which interaction between you and the student is important.

You are a Study Coach - You will guide students of the Information Technology program in making study and personal development choices. You will follow the student's learning process and guide them in their personal and professional development and provide coaching where required. You know how to motivate and coach students and you have an open attitude towards the students. If the circumstances give cause, you refer students, for example to the student counsellor.

You are a Coordinator – You will help organize events for new students that have to make a decision on which higher education study to choose, this includes open days and evenings to inform prospective students. You will help organize events on secondary schools to fascinate new students to choose an education in Information Technology. In our third and fourth study year we work with businesses and lectorates to provide real world assignments for our students during our minors and you are the account manager towards these entities.

Job requirements:
You have a completed bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Your work location is Haarlem and you have a permit to work in the Netherlands. You have proven interest and demonstrable expertise in lecturing professional & communication skills with an open mind towards teaching- and learning methods. You are able to lecture and communicate in both English and Dutch. You have experience in coaching and supervising students and have preferably completed coaching training yourself. You have experience with account management, organizing events and you can activate students and lecturers to provide support with the events to stimulate enrollment. It is an advantage if you have affinity with Agile, the IT field and the people who work there. You have obtained, or are willing to obtain a didactic qualification. Wat bieden wij
This contract is initially for 12 months, with the potential for permanent appointment. A salary of at least €4.234,28 with a maximum of €5.936,77 gross per month, scale 11, for full-time employment. Your renumeration depends on your workload, acquired skills, and education. A working week of 32 hours. An easily accessible workplace in Haarlem. All travel expenses incurred by public transport will be reimbursed 100%. You shall receive a business card for public transport. If you opt for your own transport, know that you will be reimbursed to a limited extent. A payment of an 8% holiday allowance in May. A payment of an year-end payment of 8.3% in December. A generous leave scheme in which you can make your own choices. For example: with a full-time employment contract and a chosen working week variant of 40 hours per week, you will have 428 hours of annual leave. This is 53.5 vacation days. Our leave scheme includes the mandatory days off and national and recognized public holidays. A homework allowance of €3,35 per day worked from home of at least 4 hours. An attractive pension scheme with ABP (General Pension Fund for Public Employees). You will receive sufficient facilities for professional and personal development from us.
