Network Engineer

CLOSING DATE JUNE 25th 2024. As a network engineer you will contribute to the remote access and IoT solutions we provide for mobile offshore units, where we notably have designed a large part of the wind turbine installation vessels currently in operation.
You will work in a cross-functional agile team, that works together with other agile teams in the NOV organization.
Responsibilities:
As a network engineer you are responsible for the design, implementation, management and troubleshooting of networks, focusing on the networks for our remote access and IoT systems. Your responsibilities include:
Design and Planning: Architecting network infrastructure tailored to organizational needs, including hardware, software, and protocol selection. Installation and Configuration: Setting up and configuring network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) to ensure optimal performance and security. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Continuously monitoring network performance, identifying issues, and resolving connectivity or configuration problems. Security and Maintenance: Implementing security measures, performing routine maintenance, and applying updates to safeguard and optimize the network. Capacity and Disaster Recovery Planning: Assessing network usage for future needs and developing strategies for disaster recovery. Documentation and Collaboration: Maintaining detailed network documentation and working with IT teams to integrate network systems seamlessly.Requirements:
Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and beneficial industry-recognized certifications, especially in cybersecurity. Experience: 5+ years in network technology, with at least 3 years as a network engineer. Technical Skills: Proficiency in networking concepts and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, wireless), network hardware (routers, switches), and network management tools. Security and Troubleshooting: Strong understanding of network security principles and adeptness in diagnosing and resolving network issues. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teamwork ability, and capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Project Management and Adaptability: Experience in managing network projects and a willingness to learn and adapt to new networking technologies and practices.What we offer:
