For our Center of Competency, We are looking for an experienced industrial mechanical designer (10+ years industrial experience, MSc / PhD) that can build-up, and lead, a small technical team at ASM Pacific Technology in the Netherlands. The mission of this team is to create, in close collaboration with our colleagues in Singapore and Hong Kong, the design of new advanced products for the semiconductor back-end market. A well-established professional network in the Dutch high-tech industry is a must, so that the innovative power that local industrial and academic partners offer, can be leveraged in the designs. Collaborating with these external partners in the design activity is an important part of the position.
A professional background as lead mechanical designer in the high-accuracy, sub-micron, machine-building industry is preferred, but other relevant backgrounds are also seriously considered. A good track record of mechanical design innovations and creative practical solutions is an ideal starting point for the challenges that ASM PT offers. Good communication skills are key, to align with the various stakeholders in the design process.
Tasks & responsibilities
Build and lead small in-house mechanical design team Create innovative designs and solutions for our back-end product portfolio Sell these design solutions in an organization where machine cost price is a key target Support, stimulate, challenge, collaborate, and communicate with the Singapore & Hong Kong design teams Connect to relevant local academic groups and industrial companies to accelerate the innovation Collaborate closely with the local ASM PT mechatronics R&D team on the topics of dynamics & controlThe ASM Center of Competency, located in the Netherlands, is responsible for identifying new high-tech innovation opportunities for the full global ASM Pacific Technology product portfolio.
The equipment portfolio of ASM Pacific Technology covers the complete back-end section of the semiconductor equipment market and offers comprehensive assembly and advanced packaging solutions for its customers in the fields of optoelectronics, electronics, solar energy, automotive and other segments.
