Job Description

As a cables and pipelines supervisor, your main task is to verify the actual location of cables and pipelines corresponding to the issued permit. You will oversee excavation activities in public areas, ensuring that the planning of preceding activities is adhered to. By conducting daily inspections, you will ensure that upcoming projects rely on the correct positioning of cables and pipelines, following appropriate safety measures. Your collaboration will extend to cable and pipeline coordinators, project managers, utility companies, residents, and contractors. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling complaints and reports concerning cables and pipelines, examining exceptions, third-party construction plans, and container placement. You may also support sewer and pavement supervisors and the ice coordinator, when needed.

Requirements

We are looking for a proactive supervisor with a strong network and expertise in cables, pipelines, excavation, and pavement work. The ideal candidate has experience in cable and pipeline supervision, demonstrating meticulousness and clear communication. Being environmentally aware and persuasive are key qualities, alongside the ability to work in a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the community's quality of life. Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in cable and pipeline supervision in the last 6 years;
• VCA certification;
• Familiarity with the MOOR system;
• Knowledge of civil engineering regulations (e.g., AVOI, VWOI, CROW 96a/96b, CROW500, and WIBON);
• Interest in traffic control assessments according to CROW standards.
