Wageningen Economic Research holds the ISO9001:2015 certificate. This ISO standard is based on risk-based thinking and developing and potentially implementing improvements.
Quality management contributes to achieving the institute's strategic objectives:
delivering impactful products that meet the requirements of existing and new customers while addressing risks and opportunities.
Research within the primary process is conducted according to various procedures and work agreements based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act system; acquiring, executing, delivering results, and providing aftercare for research assignments.
Additionally, supporting activities, such as the Human Resource policy and the review process, determine the high quality standard of our research.
The Centre for Economic Information Provision (CEI) is a functional part of Wageningen Economic Research but is independently certified. As a Quality Coordinator, you support the director of the CEI in preparing for recertification and follow-up visits. The tasks align with those of Wageningen Economic Research.On January 1, 2025, Economic Research will merge with another research institute, meaning there is a challenge to get the new institute certified as one entity by January 1, 2026.
The Quality Coordinator reports directly to the Business Unit Manager, Olaf Hietbrink. The delegated supervisor is Brigitte van Oord, Secretary of Operations and also Head of the Secretariat Group.As a Quality Coordinator, you work closely with the Secretary of Operations, and your tasks include:
- keeping (documented) processes and procedures up to date;
- making improvement suggestions regarding processes and procedures;
- sending external customer evaluations and processing the results;
- sending internal project evaluations and processing the results;
- preparing a draft management report;
- preparing for external audits (organizing, content preparation, ensuring follow-up).

In this challenging coordination role, contributing to the advice and implementation of various relevant projects within operations is part of your tasks.
Think of housing or the implementation of new systems or procedures.
Within Wageningen UR, you can collaborate with colleagues from other departments in the field of quality and safety and participate in expert groups to learn from each other.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3.166;
- and €4.520;
- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 9).This position is available for 28-32 hours per week. You will initially receive a one-year contract, which will be extended to an open-ended contract upon in mutual enthusiasm
