AACB's mission is to provide safe and efficient access to capital markets around the world. The AACB Risk Management department ensures that the risks (including market surveillance, market, credit and Operational risks) of AACB are managed in line with the regulations and risk appetite. The department creates a culture and framework of risk awareness in order to achieve sustainable profit growth and continues to deliver trust and value to all stakeholders (clients, regulators, shareholders).

Region Europe
AACB has a global focus and is divided into three regional organizations: Region Europe, Region USA and Region Asia-Pacific. Region. Region Europe consists of the offices in Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt and São Paulo. The Risk organisation under the leadership of the European CRO is represented in Amsterdam, London and São Paulo.

The core service offering consists of execution, clearing, financing, stock borrowing and lending, settlement and custody. • Coordinates the regional decision making on market risk, credit risk, market surveillance risk (includes Pre-trade risk) and other risks where needed in order to optimize the balance in long term profitability and security.

• Prepares, manages and implements the regional risk objectives and strategy and ensures a proper organization of the department.

Key Roles

• Responsible for 2nd line risk including Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk and Market Surveillance Risks

• Manage and develop the regional objectives and strategy for enterprise risk management in order to strengthen the ability of AACB to continuously meet our regulatory requirements and mitigate enterprise risks for the futures and securities industry

• Ensure that systems and procedures are followed to implement and monitor adherence to the risk policies and other related procedures and guidelines.

• Develops and implements risk management frameworks and ensures assessment and measurement of risk

• Facilitates and manages risk processes to ensure an integrated approach, operational efficiency, and effectiveness.

• Partner with clients and prospective clients on the services of AACB's risk management.

• Represent AACB as a participant in various industry risk committees

Governance and Risk Reporting

• Member of the European Management team EMT.

• Member of the UK Management Team (Vice Chair).

• Participant in the Global Clearing Enterprise Risk Committee (GCERC)

• Chairperson for the European Clearing Enterprise Risk Committee (EU CERC) and Chairperson for the UK Clearing Enterprise Risk Committee (UKCERC).

• Chairperson for the CCDT – Client Contract Default Team and will be required to participate on various other internal committees

• Implementation and regular review of the Risk Appetite Statement for the region

• Responsible for providing 2nd line opinion and advice on various business proposals and memos that go through the EU CERC and Global CERC

• Ensuring monthly reports covering Market Risk, Credit risk, Operational risk and Market Surveillance go to the various mgmt teams and committees to provide timely MI and escalation

• Periodic reviews and compliance with the applicable policies and procedures

• Nurture, coach and manage the risk teams in order to grow and maximize talent development.

• Manages the performance management and development cycle with employees and provides them with feedback/forward information on individual performances including appraisals.

• Partner with the Global CRO to develop the annual strategic plan for the departments and align the regional strategy with the global strategy
• Assist implementation of the strategic plan across the risk teams, help drive the purpose and mobilize staff and resources to execute the purpose and strategy where needed.

• Promote and advocate a strong culture of risk awareness and ownership across the firm

• Responsible for explaining and stewarding risk requirements across multiple internal stakeholders

• You will have strong emotional intelligence to manage stressfull situations - senior management across the firm will look to the CRO for guidance during a market or client specific event

• Draws up an annual plan in order to enable steering on the department results and to deliver a maximum contribution to the objectives of the global CRO.

• Prioritizes and assigns the tasks of the regional department and translates them into operational activities.

• Estimates the needed resources and plans the department activities.

• Develop, promote and foster a transparent risk conscious culture

• 10+ years of risk experience in the securities and derivatives industry with strong knowledge of futures, equities and options markets

• Deep knowledge of options pricing and options hedging, ideally from a quantitative background

• Strong understanding of the mechanics of a clearing organization

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven people management skills to support and further develop the team(s)

• Developed strategic, leadership and commercial skills

• Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
