We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka PlatformEngineer to join our Engineering Enablement Platform team. Theideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing,implementing, and managing Kafka platforms to ensure highavailability, scalability, and performance. As a Kafka PlatformEngineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing ourevent-driven architecture and enabling our engineering teams toleverage Kafkaeffectively.

Thisis how you will reinvent foodretail.

- Designand architect scalable Kafka clusters that meet businessrequirements.
- Develop and maintain best practices forKafka infrastructure, ensuring high availability and faulttolerance.
- Install, configure, and manage Kafkaclusters, including brokers, Zookeepers, producers, andconsumers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka clusters toensure optimal performance and reliability.
- ImplementKafka security configurations and policies, including SSL, SASL,and Kerberos.
- Analyze and tune Kafka performancemetrics to ensure low-latency and high-throughput.
-Optimize Kafka configurations for various workloads and usecases.
- Develop and maintain tools for automating Kafkacluster management tasks.
- Integrate Kafka withmonitoring and alerting systems to proactively addressissues.
- Provide expertise and support to engineeringteams using Kafka, assisting with application design andtroubleshooting.
- Conduct root cause analysis ofKafka-related incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Kafkaoperations, best practices, and guidelines.
- Conducttraining sessions and workshops to enable engineering teams toeffectively use Kafka.
- Work closely withcross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and SoftwareEngineering, to ensure seamless Kafka integration andoperation.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholdersto understand requirements and provide status updates.

Therecipe for maximum impact
- 5+ years ofexperience working with Apache Kafka in a productionenvironment.

Strong understanding of Kafkainternals, including architecture, replication, partitioning, andconsumer groups.
- Experience with Kafka Connect, KafkaStreams, and KSQL.
- Proficiency in scripting languagessuch as Python, Bash, or similar.
- Familiarity withcontainerization and orchestration tools like Docker andKubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms such asAWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Solid understanding of networking,security, and systems administration.
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellentcommunication and collaborationabilities.

Nice tohave:

Hands-on experience with *ConfluentCloud* or Strimzi
- Experience with GitHub actions orsimilar
- Experience with Pullumi or other IaC
- Experience with schema management and serialization formatslike Avro, Protobuf, and JSON.
- Knowledge of othermessaging systems like RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar.
-Certification in Kafka or related technologies.
