Job Description

As a crucial team member of the Image Guided Therapy-Devices (IGT-D) R&D management group, the Senior Director of Software Engineering, NPI is in charge of leading a global R&D team and overseeing the entire product development cycle of clinical applications and our software platform architecture.

Your role:

  • Build, nurture, and grow a global software NPI team dedicated to creating unique platform and clinical software applications that significantly enhance the user experience of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and hemodynamic diagnostic devices through x-ray and device co-registration, along with the implementation of artificial intelligence strategies in coronary and peripheral vascular procedures.
  • Create and execute a long-term vision/strategy in collaboration with business leaders, guiding the team to deliver maximum value to the business. Inspire and contribute to cross-organizational strategies and innovation projects.
  • Manage the department's capabilities to develop and enhance the necessary competencies and knowledge for introducing new clinical software applications for IVUS and hemodynamic diagnostic devices. Upgrade the platform architecture using data, AI algorithms, Cloud technology, and product development strategies; ensure that team leads adhere to standard software development tools and practices.
  • Provide teams with the resources and tools they need, lead the SW architecture team in technology and architecture, and enhance the department's knowledge and expertise.
  • Implement effective personnel management practices including recruitment, staffing, remuneration, performance evaluations, education, and training. Encourage an engaged, innovative, and inspiring workplace by motivating, challenging, and coaching employees towards growth and fostering an innovative climate.

You're the right fit if:

  • Have a minimum of 12 years of management and technical management experience in the medical device industry, with at least 5 years at a Senior Management level.
  • Demonstrate a history of building and leading high-performance global teams that deliver results in software and new product introduction in a highly regulated environment, preferably in medical devices.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience in developing clinical applications, interoperability, and software integration.
  • Hold a Bachelor's/MS/PhD degree in Engineering/Computer Sciences or a related field.
  • Capable of meeting the physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements of an Office/Remote position with or without accommodation.
