Instruqt is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team. As an engineer working on the core of our platformyou will be helping deliver a great experience for all "Learner"s out there benefiting from the technology we build and deliver via our customer brands.We're a startup that is proud to work with some renowned tech companies, including Google Cloud, Red Hat, Puppet, HashiCorp and Datadog.

What you'll do

As a Senior Full-stack Product Engineer at Instruqt, you will be part of one of our small cross-functional product teams. As a member of this team, you will design and build state-of-the-art software, follow best practices, & measure everything. You will be responsible for delivering projects from design to production.

Challenges you will solve
  • Write, review, & break down technical designs for product and engineering initiatives.
  • Implement distributed systems to enhance our sandbox infrastructure.
  • Design and build colocated backend services.
  • Integrate backend, & frontend features with our sandbox infrastructure.
  • Improve and scale development practices across multiple teams.
  • Proactively improve and optimize Instruqt's development processes and product.
  • Share knowledge and mentor colleagues.
  • Ensure high availability: Our customers rely on our platform to run live virtual product workshops for hundreds of users; offer self-service demos and sales enablement workshops and training.
  • Support existing services, and features when things go wrong.

Requirements

We are looking for people eager to join a growing product engineering team. We believe that a small product team can build world-changing platforms and tools. To achieve this, we look for product-minded engineers, who bring fresh ideas, dreams, and ambitions to our team.

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Good understanding of Go and/or lower level languages (C, Rust, etc)
  • Able to contribute to our frontend (React, Typescript) if required.
  • Experience with low level systems (Linux, storage, networking and distributed systems).
  • Be a mentor and sparring partner from a technical perspective for the rest of the organization (including technical and non-technical departments).
  • Design scalable and reliable systems.
  • Take ownership of the complex technical aspects of (parts of) the product.
  • Proven track record of delivering value around the product.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills. We collaborate across small teams, clear communication is key to our success.
  • Leadership skills essential: ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • You are passionate about product and user experience – customers are at the heart of everything you do
  • Experience in an agile, cross-functional team and in a fast-paced environment.
