The European School The Hague is looking for a Personal Assistant to the Director

Working pattern: 0.7 FTE |
Start date: August 2024 |
Closing date: 7th of June 2024


The European School The Hague (ESH) is part of The Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation; and ESH is an accredited European School providing multilingual and multicultural education at Early Years, Primary and Secondary levels.

Currently the entire school has more than 1.600 students and 300 staff members. The school has two locations in the Hague, an Early Years/Primary school, and a Secondary school.

ESH as whole school is managed by the Director and each school is managed by its own Head of School.


Job description


The Personal Assistant to the Director is in charge of providing secretarial support to the Director, the management information and the management of the school archives.


  • Organising and monitoring the agenda and calendar of the Director
  • Maintaining contacts within the foundation group of schools and with external agencies
  • Drafting and sending out correspondence and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Preparing meetings and appointments for the Director and organising highlevel meetings with external parties
  • Collaborations with the other Personal Assistants within the school
  • Experienced in Minute taking for meetings

Requirements:

  • Experience in an international and multilingual environment
  • Fluent (C2 level) in the English and Dutch language (spoken and written)
  • Proven senior management secretarial skills and knowledge of internal administrative and procedural regulations
  • Excellent IT skills (Office 365)
  • Proactive and assertive attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and work overtime when needed.

  • A temporary appointment of one year, with a prospect of a permanent contract based on the Dutch collective labour agreement for secondary education (CAO VO)
  • Payscale 7,OOP, maximum 3,588.00 Euro gross per month. The specific step in the scale is depending on relevant background and experience
