Lead process of implementing new phytosanitary requirements within the company to ensure freedom to operate. Secure market access through problem solving, external lobbying and proactively identifying issues and trends.

Key accountabilities

  • Accountable for leading, motivating, developing and coaching the assigned team members. Ensure sharing of knowledge and experience. Ensure the annual Great to Grow cycle is successfully implemented to develop individuals and teams.
  • Lead the process to review the global regulatory landscape and identify key strategic priorities for Enza. Develop and manage effective tracking system to reflect regulatory changes. Proactively identify changes and trends and propose solutions to secure freedom to operate.
  • Area: Phytosanitary.
  • Drive the implementation of regulatory compliance across the business in the specified area of regulatory affairs.
  • Lead incident and crisis management on phytosanitary issues and trade barriers, in collaboration with directors, senior managers and where required, technical experts. Spans crossfunctional departments with Sales, SO, R&D and Legal. Includes highlevel quarantine pest notifications.
  • Ensure market access and ability to carry out seed processing or handling activities both on long term (strategic) and tactical horizons by discussing regulatory barriers with external regulators and other stakeholders and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Drive the improvement of implementation and evaluation of regulatory procedures, processes, standards and systems, evaluate bottlenecks and/or compliance risks and support the implementation of improvements.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic progress reports to senior management (BoD, functional MT's (SO, R&D, M&S)) regarding the impact of upcoming and/or implemented regulation changes. Ensure follow up of actions.
  • Influence direction and drive action to develop the seed business for Enza and support the sector by representing Enza in diverse external platforms at national, regional and international levels. Develop and maintain an external business network by building and strengthening relationships and networks with decision-makers, regulators, seed associations and key influencers concerning market access.
  • Create and maintain Enza Zaden worldwide network of colleagues involved in phytosanitary regulations. Keep track of actual developments to secure optimal knowledge transfer. Responsible for internal communication in this network to ensure external communication is in alignment with company strategy.
