Are you ready to take on the role of Senior EWIS Functional Design Engineer at GKN Fokker Elmo's Engineering department? Join a team that is expanding its expertise in high voltage/higpower EWIS for electric aircraft applications.

GKN Fokker Elmo specializes in the design, manufacturing, and support of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) for Aerospace and Defense programs, contributing significantly to projects like F-35 Lightning II, Airbus A220, A320 NEO, A330 NEO, Boeing 787, and more.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing EWIS for various aircraft, including new (Hybrid) Electrical aircraft, Eviation, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze design requirements
  • Perform trade-off studies
  • Make design choices
  • Design wire harnesses constructions and interconnections
  • Process aircraft systems data packages
  • Write technical reports
  • Support continuous functional improvements of Engineering tooling environment

The appointed Senior EWIS Functional Design Engineer will have at least 10 years of experience in the Aerospace industry and hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

Requirements:

  • System design
  • Applying Separation/segregation rules
  • EWIS/Wiring harness functional design
  • Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
  • MS Office proficiency

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of design processes, international drawing standards, system safety analysis, wire & cable sizing, integration aspects, and configuration management principles.
