Vacaturenummer:12996- Are you looking for a challenging job in a dynamic team? The History department of the Faculty of Humanities is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Researcher.- The project Multimodal AI, Image Analysis, and the Illustrated Periodicals Press is looking for a junior researcher.

Funded by the Research Society for Victorian Periodicals, the project applies state-of-the-art multimodal Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate the extraction and labeling of nineteenth-century illustrations.

Focusing on the _Illustrated London News_, the project develops distant viewing methods that will provide new insights into nineteenth-century visual culture.

What are you going to do?Your tasks and responsibilities**:

  • Manage the contact between the international team members;
  • Help with the organization of an international workshop and research sprint;
  • Independent media history and/or Digital Humanities research project that leads to a (joint) conference presentation or publication.

What do you have to offer?

  • You are an independent researcher and a good organizer

Your experience and profile:

  • A BA or MA in (media) history and/or Digital Humanities;
  • Experience in organizing international meetings;
  • Experience in managing teams;
- good written and oral command of English;
- interest in digital methods.

    What can we offer you?
  • We offer a temporary employment contract for a period of 4 months. Preferred starting date is 01 September 2024. The employment contract is for 24 hours a week.
