Job Scope


The Manager Internal Communications is responsible for the planning, implementation, tracking, reporting and evaluation of all SkyTeam Internal Communications activities.

The Manager Internal Communications reports to the Director PR & Communications.

If so, SkyTeam invites you to step into a pivotal role as our Manager Internal Communications, where you will be the driving force behind our internal narrative and employee engagement.


As the Manager Internal Communications, you will be at the heart of our efforts to build and maintain SkyTeam's image and reputation among our valued customers and member airlines.

Reporting directly to the Director of PR & Communications, you will spearhead internal communications strategies, ensuring seamless and impactful messaging across our global network.


Key Result Areas / Key Responsibilities

Chair Internal/Employee Communications Working Group

  • Lead, manage, leverage IC working group to achieve SkyTeamrelated IC objectives and goals
  • Work proactively with the Internal Communications team, composed of members from all SkyTeam airlines
  • Align Internal Communications plans with airline members, relevant business owners and other internal stakeholders, ensuring commitment and consistency
  • Chair Internal Communications working group meetings and conference calls
  • Guide and support new members through the Internal Communications aspects of their joining process, including their joining events

Interdependencies:
CEO, Director PR & Communications, Brand, airline colleagues

Lead on other IC project needs

  • Support inhouse business owners (BOs) and Brand Team companywide with IC comms needs
  • Manage agency relationships and processes
  • Sharpen briefings, agree strategy, identify deliverables/assets and who will create/produce them (internal or 3rd party)

Manage InHouse News

  • Maintain and evolve storytelling/article approach started in 2023, measuring and adjusting as necessary for continued employee engagement

CEO, ExCom, Comms Reps from each department

Direct internal employee comms PR program

  • Share SkyTeam news with colleagues in Amstelveen
  • Provide templates for them to share news with members
  • Interdependencies:
Director PR & Communications, PR Consultant

Must have:

Authorization/availability to reside and work legally in The Netherlands on a full-time basis

Your profile:

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Public Relations, Copywriting, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • Proven communications experience in the airline/travel & transport industry, either directly as part of the business or through a PR agency.
  • Uptodate knowledge of corporate and internal communications, social media tools and tactics.
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful IC campaigns at international and multimarket level.
  • Previous experience working in an international environment with multinational and multicultural demographics.
  • Event organizing experience.
  • Business awareness and a good knowledge of current affairs.

Competencies:

  • Able to discuss complex and sensitive issues, diplomacy, ability to balance different or even conflicting objectives among multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to work in teams and being sensitive to other national and corporate cultures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills in English (
    NATIVE LEVEL).
