YOUR TEAM


Within the Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, the "Technical Systems" service is responsible for the maintenance, development and improvement of software products which support MUAC in achieving its safety and capacity targets and sustain the growing air traffic demand.

It provides also resources to various projects in its area of expertise and maintains technical hardware.

YOUR ROLE

Your role will be to:

  • Monitor and operate autonomously the MUAC's Air Traffic Management / Communication, Navigation & Surveillance (ATM/CNS) systems in accordance with system control procedures and working instructions.
  • Interpret all operator messages, system alarms and reported deficiencies and log these according to the applicable process.
  • Perform first line fault diagnosis, fault isolation and system equipment reconfiguration to restore MUAC's ATM/CNS systems and services.
  • Initiate and follow up engineering first line corrective actions according to the applicable process.
  • Participate in the verification, validation and implementation of new software and hardware products.
  • Draft technical reports on system and equipment deficiencies as required.
  • Participate in the maintenance, improvement and validation of the system controller documentation including procedures and working instructions.
  • Liaise with other services to establish and maintain effective working practices.
  • Maintain competencies required for a system controller and follow relevant training to obtain the legally required certificates of competence.
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Postsecondary education attested by a diploma, preferably in IT.
  • Certificate of Competence.
During the training period to obtain the certificate of competence, system controllers are entitled to 75% of the basic salary corresponding to grade O1, step - Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) Competence

  • Primary Intervention Certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in incident management (e.g. identification, analysis, correction).
  • Understanding of the ATC infrastructure and ATM system architecture.
  • The following would constitute an advantage:
  • Experience in ATC infrastructure and ATM system architecture.
  • Understanding of the Maastricht Data Processing and Display System (MADAP).\
  • Ability to work with welldefined processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a changing technical environment.
  • Drafting skills in English to draft technical reports.
  • Physical aptitude to work in shift.
  • Commitment to undertake 24/7 shift work.
  • Awareness of social impact of shift work and adaptability to shift work.
  • Stress resistance.
  • Team work: You display a collaborative approach.
  • Customer focus: You respond effectively to customer enquiries.
  • Quality focus: You deliver consistent quality in work.
  • Analytical thinking: You analyse information and identifies critical relationships.
