Technical Writer

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

End Date: December 2024

Location: Eindhoven

As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating technical information for the Customer Services organization of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT Business Group). This includes repair, maintenance, upgrade, and installation information essential for our Service Engineers to efficiently handle our complex imaging systems.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Gather information about system releases and changes through interviews, equipment observation, and technical document review.
  • Discuss documentation requirements with relevant stakeholders and fellow writers.
  • Monitor progress, ensure timely communication, and meet deadlines.
  • Create, develop, and edit service information.
  • Design and maintain system-specific installation documents for X-ray systems.
  • Utilize text editors (MS-Word, X-Metal) and Content Management Systems (ST4, PTC-Windchill).
  • Collaborate with illustrators to incorporate technical illustrations.

Your Team:

The Technical Writers collaborate closely with Project Managers, Service Innovation Engineers, and Technical Illustrators within the Fixed Systems team or the Interventional Tools and Solutions Team. Together, they deliver top-notch service information for all phases of a medical system's lifecycle, fostering a dynamic and innovative environment.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 5 years of technical writing experience.
  • Preferably experience with ST4.
  • Background in linguistics/communication is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Experience with medical or high-tech equipment.
  • Strong familiarity with structured authoring tools, topic-based writing, single-source publishing, and Content Management Systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with controlled language or documentation standards.
  • Adaptability to new tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Customer-centric, collaborative team player with independent work capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ownership, responsibility, and lean methodology.
