Profile:

As the Director of Kentalis Academy, you are both internally and externally the face of the organization regarding research, education, and knowledge development, in very close collaboration with the core process and fellow directors. With a clear and inspiring vision, an ambitious attitude, and an approach focused on connection and high engagement, you lead both the Kentalis Academy and the organization. This is done in a complex organization in transition, collaborating from a new organization-wide structure and a well-developed Academy. You identify opportunities, are proactive and focused on innovation and results. You work systematically, pragmatically, and purposefully, weighing various interests to set priorities. You are firm and sensitive in conducting complex internal and external coordination discussions with potential conflicting interests, smoothly transitioning between strategic and tactical levels. As a leader, you continuously focus on the development of your teams and individual employees. The principle is collaboration and reciprocity, encouraging employees' self-regulation, responsibility, and ownership. With your entrepreneurship and connecting abilities, you further build collaborative relationships with existing and new partners in the national and international network. In short, you ensure the continuity of progressive services with a lot of positive energy, engagement, humor, and perspective. To fulfill this complex role as Director of Kentalis Academy, you ultimately meet the following important profile requirements:

• You have an academic work and thinking level and a relevant completed academic education.
• You understand strategically relevant challenges facing the sector and have affinity with Kentalis' target groups.
• You are a connector and collaborator, focused on the overarching interest as well as on Kentalis' positioning, proficient at initiating and maintaining internal and external partnerships (also internationally) within healthcare and education, able to assess interests and easily navigate strategic and/or political contexts.
• You are preferably a Ph.D. holder. In any case, you have knowledge of current scientific research and a solid research background, for collaborations with universities and discussing/evaluating new research programs.
• You are an independent thinker with a clear contemporary vision on research, education, and knowledge development and have demonstrable experience and expertise in guiding research groups and/or innovative organizational and change processes in a professional and complex organization with (teams of) highly educated professionals (experience in healthcare or education is a plus).
• You have strongly developed leadership/executive skills at a strategic level and are inspiring, motivating, development-oriented, and coaching towards (teams of) employees regarding the (further) development and positioning of the academy, based on clear frameworks (you set priorities and make choices) and from a pleasant balance of trust versus control.
• You have experience and insight in strategic level business operations.
• You are visible, accessible, and integer; you enjoy networking, possess excellent relational and communication skills, can lead meaningful conversations, and as a figurehead, have a convincing presentation.
