Regulatory Director - Nederland

Last Energy NL is seeking a Regulatory Director to lead their efforts in navigating the nuclear licensing process in the Netherlands. This candidate will report to Last Energy's Global Head of Licensing and will drive the progress of micro-nuclear energy projects, ultimately contributing to short-term decarbonization. Previous experience in the nuclear industry is highly valued but not required; applications from individuals who bring fresh perspectives and challenge conventional thinking are encouraged. Experience in the energy sector is a must.

Additionally, we are looking for a Dutch-speaking candidate.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership in developing and implementing a Dutch licensing roadmap, aiming to obtain a factory license within two years
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Last Energy and the Dutch nuclear regulatory network, including the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS), COVRA, and other relevant central government agencies
  • Lead the preparation and quality control of registration files, license applications, and safety matters ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Act as the main point of contact for Dutch external licensing companies, managing budgets, schedules, and deliverable quality
  • Monitor and address regulatory issues and concerns of internal and external stakeholders, proactively identifying and mitigating regulatory risks
  • Develop an efficient regulatory practice, promoting a culture that challenges established norms, creativity, and extreme ownership

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
  • Experience as a Regulatory Manager or Director
  • Experience in the nuclear industry not required, but experience in the energy sector is essential
  • Strong communication skills

  • Demonstrable leadership and management abilities

  • Proficient in Dutch and English
