As a Buyer, your daily mission is to ensure the right products are in the assortment, with top quality and at the best price. The Buying & Merchandising department oversees product, quality, and margin, acting as the link between customer preferences and the actual online store assortment, ultimately ensuring customer loyalty.

As a Senior Buyer at Jumbo, you will have a great deal of autonomy. You will independently develop and implement the purchasing policy based on the strategic procurement plan and objectives for your categories. You will also lead specific procurement projects, provide guidance to Buyers and Purchasing Assistants, and familiarity with purchasing A-brands is highly advantageous for this role.

• Ensure timely availability of the right goods at optimal prices and conditions in terms of product, commercial, financial, and logistics aspects.
• Stay abreast of market trends and possess knowledge of specific market information, procurement price developments, supplier product offerings, and relevant product trends along with potential new suppliers in the market.
• Identify internal customer procurement requirements, manage supplier selection, negotiations, and contracts.
• Maintain relationships with your suppliers and support the Category Manager in achieving objectives, such as product activities and availability.
• Continuously update your knowledge of suppliers and/or production processes, as well as initiate and implement improvement proposals.

You will be based in the Buying & Merchandising department in Veghel, Brabant. You will work with a fantastic team led by the Procurement Manager, Menno Wigtman. Menno's team comprises around 13 procurement professionals, including Buyers and Purchasing Assistants.

• Minimum of a HBO degree accompanied by relevant courses and training.
• Over 10 years of relevant work experience as a Buyer or Account Manager in the Food industry focusing on A-brands.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong critical and analytical skills, a passion for Procurement, and for Food.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to show vulnerability.
