If you thrive in lively environments and are looking to work in the bustling city of Amsterdam, then this opportunity is for you The Municipality of Amsterdam is seeking new host employees for either the Rembrandtplein or the Wallen area. Start date is flexible once your Certificate of Good Conduct is in hand.

Role Overview:
  • Rembrandtplein Shifts: Fridays and Saturdays from 21:00 to 05:00. Be present at 20:45.
  • Wallen Area Shifts: Fridays and Saturdays from 17:30 to 01:30. Be present at 17:15.

You'll be entitled to advantageous evening and night shift allowances ranging from 20% to 65% on top of your hourly wage.

Are You an Enthusiastic Team Player with Strong Communication Skills?
  • • Minimum MBO Level of Education
  • • Outgoing and Hospitable Personality
  • • Prior Experience in Hospitality is advantageous
  • • Familiarity with the dynamics of Rembrandtplein
  • • Empathetic and capable of addressing people, including managing (non) verbal aggression

Role Responsibilities: As a host, your primary responsibility will be to be visibly present in public areas, welcoming visitors, providing information (e.g., about restaurants, facilities, transportation), ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting respectful behavior among visitors while considering the area's residents. Visitors should feel not only welcomed but also valued by the hosts. You will take on minor tasks proactively (e.g., disposing of loose glassware) and remain vigilant throughout your shift. Address any issues to enforcement, police, or cleaning colleagues. As a host, you serve as an additional set of eyes and ears for enforcement, police, municipal colleagues, and bouncers.
