This is a *Amsterdam* based role with an excellent immediate start within a Global Technology Client that is working on their largest digital and technological transformation program.

Our client are looking for a motivated Software Engineer II with a focus on fullstack development to join their team in Amsterdam. This role will allow you to work with cutting-edge technologies to build robust software applications for the company.

Position Summary:

As a Full stack Developer, you will own the execution of technical elements across our tech stack, products, and processes. With a split of 70% Back End (Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Perl) and 30% Front End (TypeScript, React), you will be responsible for implementing technical solutions, ensuring a high quality of code, and contributing to end-to-end system management.

You will be involved in various tasks ranging from feature development to infrastructure automation, designing solutions that meet business requirements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operation and ensure product reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development: Develop software applications using Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React, and Perl, focusing on code readability, reuse, and test automation.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage applications from deployment through to operations, monitoring application performance and health while ensuring data security and integrity.
  • Technical Incident Management: Address live production issues promptly, provide long-term solutions through root cause analysis, and participate in postmortem processes.
  • Architecture & Systems Design: Provide guidance on product architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adaptability for future business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process and system improvements for better performance, guiding junior team members on best practices.
  • Effective Communication: Engage with stakeholders, share progress, and present technical solutions clearly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Backend Experience: Strong proficiency in Java (Spring/Spring Boot), with Perl being a plus.
  • Frontend Experience: Knowledge of TypeScript and React, able to implement responsive and reusable UI components.
  • System Ownership: Experience with end-to-end system management, from design to production monitoring and incident management.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Familiarity with scalable architecture solutions and the ability to align them with business needs.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to identify patterns, evaluate ideas critically, and implement logical solutions to complex problems.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in driving quality improvements through process optimization, testing, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant job experience with proficiency in building software applications and technical leadership.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in Back End and Front End development, system ownership, incident management, architectural guidance, and continuous improvement.
