System Software Qualification Lead

We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Qualification Lead to manage a team of test engineers responsible for completing software qualification tasks. The successful candidate will have a solid background in software testing & quality assurance and be capable of guiding a team to ensure on-time completion of tasks with optimal effort. In addition, the qualification lead will oversee continues improvement initiatives, conduct retrospectives and assist the team in resolving issues and impediments.

In the role of System Software Qualification lead role, you’ll perform several activities as:

  • Finish testing according to plan (effort & schedule) so the SW package (Service Pack -SP) is qualified and released (for beta) on-time;

  • Support the qualification team in logging and following up all issues found;

  • Resolve impediments to the SP qualification team’s progress;

  • Ensure all SP qualification events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.

  • Quality is key ensure the focus of Service Pack Qualification is and remains high quality software releases (reduced lead time is important, quality is key);

  • Reuse test results from previous qualifications as much as possible to free up time and resources;

  • Use freed up time and resources to increase test coverage by using more customer configurations, exploratory testing or other solutions.

  • Continuous improvement: Facilitate a retrospective at the end of SP qualification;

  • Ensure selected improvements are picked up and implemented during the next SP qualification;

  • Report out which improvements were realized and how effective they were;

  • Ensure alignment is achieved between the different releases;

  • Stretch target is to make the improvements quantifiable, e.g. in time gained, coverage extended, patch hits found, potential impact at customer prevented.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Advance degrees are a plus.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

Skills:

  • Software Testing and Quality Assurance: In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, practices, and tools (e.g., test automation, manual testing, test case development).ISTQB certificate is a plus.

  • Agile/Scrum knowledge

  • Team Management: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of test engineers, providing direction and motivation.

  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve impediments or issues that affect project timelines and quality.

  • Continuous Improvement: A mindset geared towards ongoing process refinement and the ability to lead retrospectives and implement changes.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaboration: Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with other Departments.

  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure thorough testing and accurate reporting.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and team dynamics.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
