As a Product Owner with one of the PCBA development teams at ASML, you understand, prioritize and translate PCBA and Firmware requirements into a healthy backlog for your team. Role and Responsibilities

With over 40 colleagues in the group we are designing all PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and related Firmware (i.e. FPGA code) for our DUV systems. Including the life cycle management of these designs. Based on requirements of our internal customers, your team designs and validates the PCBAs and supports further integration by our customers. This can be new products or existing PCBAs that need to be updated for reasons of component obsolescence, or new requirements or even bug fixes in the Firmware.

You will oversee 1 team with some 10 designers and work closely with our CPO (Chief Product Owner), stakeholders and customers to maximize value creation – or in other words: understand what needs to be done by the team and prioritize among the (often) many requests on the team. Guide the team towards manageable work packages and robust sprint planning.

Activities that you will do on an average working day are:

  • Work together with the Scrum Master so that the team is set to realize deliverables. You manage risks and dependencies (in- and outside the team) and identify team improvements.
  • Prepare the team backlog for the upcoming iteration and ensure its properly prioritized for the next iteration.
  • Ensure that backlog items have requirements, acceptance criteria and ensure that the team understands them.
  • Ensure focus of the team on PI deliverables and keeps the team from getting distracted.
  • Set-up and develop our structures and meetings on managing content (PO-PL sync, PO-SM, Reviews, PI events).

Create and maintain long term plan for the (integrated) team deliverables.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • Some 5+ years of experience designing PCBAs or Firmware
  • Some 5+ years of experience as product owner or project leader

Skills

First of all, you have demonstrated in your past to be a team player. The quality of our design is important to you while you can reach your goals with a Minimal Viable Product mindset. You feel responsible for what you and the team deliver and have the ambition to constantly improve on this.

For doing your work you can rely on:

  • Demonstrated experience in PCBA or FW design
  • Experience with agile development methods is a clear plus, or otherwise proven Project Management skills
  • Strong in influencing and inspiring people, and leading in change
  • Accurate, systematic approach, analytical, problem solving
  • Strong analytical skills but with a pragmatic attitude
  • You are curious, able to look ahead and willing to take ownership
