About the Company - My client, a global market leader in their field of innovative food and alcoholic beverage ingredients is recruiting a Fermentation Scientist, a commercially minded and application oriented scientist with a background in microbiological fermentation for alcoholic beverages.


The purpose of this Scientist role is to develop a world-class fermentation laboratory team to evaluate and assess the impact of yeast and other products on alcoholic beverage fermentation.


Responsibilities

Testing will include impacts on sugar utilization, alcohol production, fermentation kinetics as well as the production of key flavour compounds.


The successful recruit will be a "hands on" lead for the fermentation team, and be responsible for experimental design, execution, and data analysis/reporting.


You will work closely with commercial leaders and customers to define the scope and deliverables for projects and workstreams


The Fermentation Scientist takes a lead in applying scientific principles for the development of products or solutions or to improve existing ones.


Qualifications

MSc or PhD in a relevant area


Required Skills

Strong experience of applying fermentation technology in an industrial context for Beer, Wine or Spirits applications

*If coming straight from a PhD your thesis will have included applied industrial work.
