Als application engineer ben je de rechterhand van de salesmanager. Je ondersteunt hem zowel technisch inhoudelijk als bij zijn salesactiviteiten. Aanvragen variëren qua grootte en complexiteit. Het kan gaan om nieuwe productielijnen, uitbreiding of aanpassing van een bestaande productielijn. Elke oplossing wordt klant specifiek opgebouwd uit standaardonderdelen; zo is elke opdracht maatwerk.Technisch inhoudelijk
Bij grotere en complexe opdrachten is de salesmanager in de lead en verloopt het klantcontact via hem. Op basis van de informatie die aan jou overgedragen wordt, werk je de klantvraag uit in opstellingstekeningen, capaciteitsberekeningen en prijsberekeningen voor offertes. Bij kleinere meer standaard aanvragen heb je ook regelmatig zelf contact met de klant om zaken af te stemmen en informatie op te vragen.Voor alle aanvragen geldt dat je rekening houdt met het type verwerking, het eindproduct, te verwerken hoeveelheden en snelheid, de beschikbare ruimte, welke machines ervoor of erna in de productielijn staan en andere belangrijke factoren. Er wordt van jou verwacht dat je meedenkt over de best mogelijke oplossingen, waarbij je zaken als maakbaarheid, rendement, kwaliteit en klanttevredenheid meeneemt. De ene keer heeft de klant al duidelijk wat nodig is, bij andere aanvragen moet je zelf meer informatie opvragen en oplossingen bedenken. Je maakt hierbij gebruik van de kennis van jouw collega’s bij vestigingen en zusterbedrijven in Amerika, Schotland en Australië techniek en prijzen om tot een passende oplossing te komen.In sommige gevallen ga je mee met de salesmanager naar klanten in heel Europa om de situatie ter plekke te beoordelen. Daarnaast kan het voorkomen dat je mee gaat naar een klant bij technisch complexe uitdagingen waarbij jouw expertise nodig is.Je zorgt voor een goede documentatie van standaard specificaties, opstellingen en berekeningen in een up-to-date database. Voor het maken van de tekeningen in 2D, werk je met AutoCAD. Het plan ligt er om in de toekomst in 3D te gaan tekenen.Salesondersteuning
Ter voorbereiding op afspraken bij klanten zorg jij ervoor dat informatie over de klant die al beschikbaar is, klaarligt voor de salesmanager. Je voorziet hem van technisch kennis en argumenten, soms verwerk je deze in een presentatie. Ook bedenk je alvast welke informatie je mogelijk nodig hebt voor de uitwerking.Bij akkoord van de salesmanager verwerk je de opstellingstekening en berekeningen in een offerte. Hierin neem je kosten service en transport mee en voeg je de leveringscondities toe. Je maakt gebruik van formats en standaardteksten die je aanpast.De salesmanager zorgt, na eventueel door jou verwerkte aanpassingen, voor akkoord van de klant. Vervolgens dragen jullie samen de opdracht op gestructureerde, volledige en heldere wijze over naar een internationaal samengesteld projectteam.Aan de slag bij Heat and Control
