We are a start-up and a community platform for street athletes – also known as urban sports & culture – around the world. These urban sports and cultures, such as freerunning, are becoming increasingly popular, because skateboarding, breakdance, BMX, surfing and others have been added to the Olympics. In recent years, this has also awakened brands and (local) governments.


Working at CityLegends gives you the opportunity to greatly expand your network and work with international brands, governments and investors LUMO Labs (Start-up building programme) and imec.istarts (investor and international agency). You will be building the growth of CityLegends with a dedicated team, founders, and advisors. So, are you ready to conquer the world with us?

Your role

You are*

You are able, and willing to design and develop new features independently, in addition, you are not shy of setting up the platform where the code eventually runs. Communicates well with the app developers to deliver a backend that perfectly matches the app. You don’t take hierarchy too seriously and dare to speak your mind. You have a drive to continuously develop and learn new languages / techniques. Above all, you can communicate well and are not averse to a party occasionally ;-)

Your profile

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer
  • Devops mindset
  • Experience with architecture and design
  • Experience with our techstack (Go, Nodejs, GraphQL, Postgresql)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience within a modern cloud/microservice environment
  • Experience with Google cloud is a plus
