Within the Europe Paper & Board Division, P&B Logistics is responsible for the transport of paper reels from more than 20 paper mills to all our in- and external customers across Europe, as well as the transport of recovered fibre into our European Mills. The total annual transport budget for both flows amounts to >300M€.

We are looking for a Business Analyst who will lead the gathering, analysis and reporting of key

business data for the P&B Logistics Division. In addition, he/she will identify, lead and follow up on

important improvement and cost reduction projects. The role reports directly to the P&B Division

Logistics Director, but also implies a close collaboration with other key positions within the P&B

Logistics team (Financial Controller, European Logistics Operations Manager, Regional Logistics

Managers, etc.).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a data-driven professional that wants to have an impact in a key SW business area, in an international environment (Europe). The role will enable you to work on complex and challenging topics, with an analytical and data-driven approach. In addition, you will lead change projects. This is a great opportunity for an analyst who wants to go beyond and has a passion for operations. The role will provide a strong personal development opportunity for the chosen candidate.

Primary Duties

  • Data gathering and periodic reporting (examples: transport costs, service levels, logistics quality, CO2 emission, etc.)
  • Generation of automated reports (in collaboration with IT department)
  • Data analysis (trend, root cause, etc.)
  • Identification of CTO (Cost Take Out) and business improvement opportunities
  • Follow-up and tracking of improvement and CTO projects
  • Business analysis support to other P&B Logistics areas (Finance, Strategic Projects, Regional Operations)
  • Support in the SW budget and rolling forecast processes
  • Ad-hoc analysis & support to P&B Logistics Director

Key Qualifications

  • University Degree or comparable
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Advanced user of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Python, Excel, Access, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience with data management, warehousing, and governance
  • Ability to analyse large data sets, identify trends and insights, and make data-driven recommendations
  • Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Experience with SW systems (SAP, HFM, …). Specific experience with TMS is a plus
  • Microsoft Office
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative way
  • Experience with Transport and Logistics is a plus
  • Disciplined self-starter with a result-driven approach
  • Fluency in the English language, second language is a plus.
  • Project management skills

Additional information

  • The job can be based in any SW location in Europe
  • The role will require limited travelling within Europe.
