We are looking for a Software Architect / Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our Mortgages development teams. A mortgage is one of the most important financial decisions in the life of our customers. Our purpose: we offer customers financial and emotional stability when purchasing their dream house and offer a carefree living afterwards. Our stack
Our back-end APIs are created with an internal Spring (Boot) based framework and run on virtualized hardware. To comply with our regulators demands, our releases processes can feel bureaucratic from time to time. This means that you need to be a quick learner to understand them, and you need to have the ambition to improve and automate as much as possible.
Roles & Responsibilities
Collaborating with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applicationsUsing tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired productDeveloping high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibilityDefine all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standardsCommunicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development teamOversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial designProvide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineersEnsure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.You will be part of a squad: a self-managing, autonomous unit with end-to-end responsibility for a customer journey, e.g. the online scheduling of an appointment with a mortgage advisor, or interest rate adjustments and mortgage repaymentYou speak up and challenge decisions (you ask why things are done instead of just doing them
How to Succeed
Proven experience as software architect8 or more years of experience with with Java, Maven and Spring (Boot)Experience with driving technical solution design following the architecture design principles A technical mindset with great attention to detailExperience with CI/CD tooling (at least Git and Jenkins)Experience with the Agile/Scrum/Kanban way of workingOutstanding communication and presentation abilitiesProficient in EnglishYou coach and help the team to the next levelYou speak up and challenge decisions (you ask why things are done instead of just doing them
Nice to Haves
Experience in MortgagesAdvanced skills that help us improve our CI/CD pipeline (e.g. using Docker)Experience with DevOps (monitoring production, Grafana, Kibana)Experience in a corporate environment.Experience with enterprise architecture, designing systems integrations.
