We are seeking a dynamic Science teacher with a passion for Physics, to join the Senior School teaching team. The post holder will be responsible for teaching Physics at KS3, KS4, and KS5 (A Level), and Science at KS3, and will be expected to deliver high quality lessons while supporting students to achieve their best. The role will also involve working as a Form Tutor in our pastoral team.

This appointment is for the new school year starting in September 2024.

The successful candidate will have a recognised UK teaching qualification (ideally B.Ed. and PGCE/PGDE), and have had at least three years' teaching GCSE and A Level studies in a UK school or an international school environment.

Deliver high quality teaching, learning & curriculum developmentCreate a stimulating class environment which promotes effective teaching & learningDevelop appropriate, differentiated schemes of work which ensure that the aims and objectives for the teaching of Physics and Science are delivered Plan and prepare courses for assigned timetabled classes and groupsPrepare courses which make provision for students of differing ability in all subjectsMonitor & track pupils' achievements at regular intervals, subject to instructions from Head of Faculty or senior colleagues Sustain effective teaching of subjects, including evaluation of quality of teaching and standards of pupils' achievements, and the setting targets for improvement Ensure the discipline and safety of all pupils in assigned groups and classesParticipate in faculty meetings, and with the review, development, and management of activities relating to the curriculum and organisation of the school, including development and improvement planningParticipate in preparing pupils for internal and external examinationsProvide opportunities for the use of digital technology within the curriculumPerform the roles and responsibilities of a form tutor, working closely with the pastoral team to provide appropriate care and support for the well-being of pupilsLiaise with parents and attend meetings arranged for that purpose Be involved in the development and delivery of extra-curricular activities and opportunities across the Key StagesWork collaboratively with other members of the schoolIdentify appropriate resources for the subject and ensure they are used efficiently, effectively and safely, including off-site facilities and school residential tripsDevelop and implement subject policies, plans, target, and practices within the context of the school's aims and policiesParticipate in the break duty rota and undertake cover duties for colleagues, as assignedCarry out such other duties as are necessary to meet the needs of the school and pupils, as directed by the Head of Senior School and the PrincipalRemain up to date with subject development, including participating in in-service trainingParticipate in professional development and training as required Be a champion for innovation and continuous improvementCreate a culture of achievement where students aspire to do their bestDemonstrate a flexible approach in the rolePerson specificationEssential experience, skills and abilitiesUK qualified teacher, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed.)At least three years' experience in the UK or experience teaching the British curriculum in an international school, including GCSEs and A levelsTeaching experience in Physics (KS3, KS4, KS5), and Science at KS3 levelProfessional interest in working in an international school environmentExperience of teaching pupils with English as an additional languageThe ability to work with a range of pupils at all levelsExcellent communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsEnthusiasm that inspires othersPositivity, perseverance, and a good sense of humourStrong IT / Edutech skills
