The Team

The Calvin Klein NOS team is based in Amsterdam & integrated into the Buying & planning department. The team oversees both demand and supply planning for the European NOS assortment.

The demand planning is a monthly process, which plans and reconciles demand plans for the coming 12-24 months. Part of the input comes from channels: E-com and Retail (DTC) and regions.

Working with several stakeholders & gathering data such as sales analysis, financial budgets and commercial targets help to build the future demand.

Based on the demand plans the supply is planned. Main target is to guarantee timely incoming product on shortest possible lead-times. The outcome of both the demand- and supply planning is to offer the right stock levels at the right time for the global market at the lowest costs.

The Position

The position is part of the Buying & Planning Team, focusing on the NOS (Never out of Stock).

This role is responsible for driving the EMEA monthly demand forecast for one of the Brands / Categories of the NOS business in order to maximize fulfilment while keeping healthy inventory levels. You will also collaborate with sales managers and planners in Europe, sales and merchandising team as input for the demand plan. The main stakeholders will be EU Regional Planning teams, Channel planning teams, sales teams Go to Market and Product Merchandisers, General Merchandise, Business operations / finance and Merch Ops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand plans for a 12 months of horizon based on statistical forecasts, trend analysis, and market insides on a monthly basis
  • Monthly create and present the forecast adjustments/summary in sign-off meetings with Production Planning team
  • Conduct analysis on NOS sales in order to obtain in-depth understanding of NOS performance and expected demand, facilitating more accurate demand planning
  • Provide analysis for regional S&OP meetings and collaborate with the regions to increase forecast accuracy
  • Collaborate with Product Merchandising with regard to NOS collection to ensure data-driven decision-making
  • Actively manage the NOS new product introduction process, by gathering forecasts from markets, calculating optimal launch quantities, determining / adjusting sell-through rate or products at multiple stages (e.g. before, during, after launch) and developing demand plan
  • Involved in projects aimed at efficiency improvement
  • Provide reporting on NOS performance to stakeholders on monthly basis and during quarterly meetings (e.g. Quarterly Basic Review report, sales overviews and forecasts, offer composition, ABC overview).
  • Connect the demand plan with the Integrated Demand Plan IDP, as part of the E2E planning light beam.
  • Participate in projects related with NOS and E2E planning

The Ideal Candidate

  • Educated to bachelor/masters level; Education background: Supply Chain Management, Commerce/ Business Management, Economics, or any related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Merchandise Planning, Retail Planning etc.
  • Strong analytical and solving skills
  • Skills in gathering, interpreting and visualizing data.
  • Ambitious, Passionate & Personable
  • Understanding of forecast error metrics
  • Strong team player
  • Proficiency with MS office with advance skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot)
  • Experience with SAP and Advanced planning systems is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
