The internship role

Being part of the Global Procurement Packaging Metals Team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Independently managing projects with guidance, leading negotiations
  • Developing sophisticated cost models to enhance visibility across the value chain
  • Expanding and updating the supplier database and their offerings
  • Exploring potential purchasing opportunities and aiding in sourcing strategies

Throughout your internship, you'll have the chance to familiarize yourself with HEINEKEN as a whole, not just your specific department. The team and the work environment

As an intern within the Global Procurement Packaging Metals Team, you will collaborate with a dedicated group of procurement specialists focused on delivering value to customers through cost-efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Our team thrives on challenging market dynamics, thinking creatively, and collaborating closely with suppliers and stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to fruition.

Terms and conditions of the internship

  • Your start date is 1 September
  • The internship is full-time (with the option for 4 days a week after consultation)
  • Internship duration is 5 or 6 months (subject to agreement with your supervisor)
  • It is a practical and hands-on internship
  • Location: Amsterdam
  • Internship compensation: €500 monthly (for university and university of applied sciences students) based on full-time
  • Entitled to 2 days of leave per month (based on full-time)
  • Full reimbursement of commute expenses if you do not possess a student transport pass

Commencing your internship journey

You will kick off your internship alongside a diverse cohort of interns from various departments at HEINEKEN. Together, you will receive an introduction to the company and have the opportunity to organize engaging activities with your peers.

Your unique qualities

  • You have a strong passion for packaging
  • Proficient in Excel and adept at data analysis (please share your relevant experiences)
  • Exceptional presentation skills and high assertiveness
  • Capable of engaging with multiple stakeholders across different functions and working autonomously
  • You possess an open mindset and thrive in a multicultural work environment

We recognize and value individual talents and are excited to have you on board

  • Preferred background in Engineering or Management
  • Passionate about independent work and taking ownership of projects
  • Strong communication abilities

Requirements set by HEINEKEN

  1. Currently enrolled in an educational institution
    1. If you are a non-EU national, you must be registered as an intern at a Dutch educational institution. Proof of enrollment for the current academic year is required
    2. If you are an EU national, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU
  2. Residing in the Netherlands for the duration of the internship (HEINEKEN does not provide accommodation)
