The Role



The Applications Domain Architect optimizes the application landscape from design to continual improvement, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture. Proactively managing EA activities for a portfolio of applications, they understand business concepts and consult on requirements, providing leadership for solutions aligned with governance and standards. This includes creating deliverables for managing the portfolio, collaborating on design with internal teams and suppliers, and overseeing both front-end and back-end services. A top-notch architect ensures optimized business operations through expertise in application architecture.

Responsible for the entire application lifecycle, from conception to implementation, the architect translates business goals into functional application plans. They supervise application implementation stages, consult with the business on requirements, and align functionalities with development plans. Documentation of development processes is integral to their role. With a holistic approach, the architect considers business capabilities, value-streams, and processes. Overall, the Applications Domain Architect plays a crucial role in driving targeted business outcomes by bridging business needs with effective architectural solutions, contributing to the organization's success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with senior managers to determine business-specific application needs.
  • Compiling and implementing application development plans for new or existing applications.
  • Supervising the design, testing, and modification stages.
  • Demonstrating application prototypes and integrating user feedback.
  • Performing application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migration.
  • Documenting application maintenance processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Integrating trends in application architecture.
  • Implement and maintain LCM of applications

What we expect from you

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specialization in software engineering, application development, or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an application architect, preferably in a related industry.
  • The ability to code is not required. However, having programming skills helps you to have a better insight into the applications you are working with.
  • Experienced in aligning application development with business needs.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You speak Dutch and English on a professional level.
  • Easy in collaboration and clear communication skills.
