Supervisor Software Engineering
You will have a vital role in leading the Embedded Software Engineering for one of the three Software engineering groups in the Application Software department, contributing to DAF Trucks' market position enhancement by making trucks safer and more user-friendly for drivers. Your main responsibilities:
- Develop and align Agile teams
- Coach and support all Software Engineers in your group
- Align application software development processes over projects
- Deploy and implement software development processes based on Automotive SPICE standards
- Define a roadmap for future application software development processes and techniques
- Manage employee allocation in collaboration with Engineering Manager Application Software and Project Management
- Organize frequent group meetings for effective information exchange
- Create resource forecasts based on project activities and plans
- Monitor project progress with relevant stakeholders
- Identify tools and methods to enhance efficiency of the engineering group
- Maintain the roadmap for required competences and skills of the engineering group
- Foster personal development of skills and competences for direct reports
As the Supervisor Application Software, you will report to the Engineering Manager of the Application Software department.
RequirementsTo excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Master's Degree in (Embedded) Software Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of Automotive Safety (ISO26262), Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE-21434, UN155&156), and system development standards (Automotive SPICE)
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant work experience, including leading engineering teams, automotive embedded application software development, agile software development, model-based software development, and project matrix structures
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment, collaborate across different groups, and manage people effectively
- Fluency in English with a willingness to learn Dutch
Contract through Yacht for a minimum of 1 year, following DAF Trucks' salary chart ranged between €4,500 to €7,300 gross per month based on highest earned degree and experience, for a 36-hour work week (excluding holiday allowance). You will also have access to benefits including a home office budget of €750 and an annual course development budget of €3,500.

Additionally, Embedded Engineering collaborates closely with PACCAR Embedded Engineering US in Mount Vernon, Kirkland, and Lewisville, enhancing common software development. The products developed by Embedded Engineering are not only used in DAF trucks but also in leading PACCAR brands Kenworth and Peterbilt as well as by prominent bus and coach manufacturers.
