All about the role

As a Corporate Legal Counsel, you'll become part of the group Legal Corporate team. We are looking for a driven person with a broad interest in handling JET's global legal entity structure. This role will include providing pragmatic advice and support to the Director Corporate Legal and to the global JET business on corporate legal topics, covering all requirements and obligations in relation to JET's subsidiaries and its boards, such as legal entity set up and liquidation, intercompany restructuring (share transfers, merger, spin offs), intercompany financing (both equity contributions and distributions and intercompany debt).

There will be a key focus on drafting, streamlining and improving documents, processes and policies, on corporate legal topics in close consultation and collaboration with your key stakeholders, such as local management, finance, tax and treasury. This is all critical to our continued growth as a business, and maintaining JET's reputation as a brand that customers, partners and investors trust.

These are some of the key ingredients for the role:

  • You'll provide corporate legal support to the business to maintain and optimise JET's global legal entity structure.
  • You'll ensure the corporate housekeeping for all subsidiaries is accurate, timely and complete.
  • You'll be drafting a wide range of policies, processes, templates and documents.
  • You'll be responsible for high-quality advice and documents with minimal supervision.
  • You'll be developing in-house standards and precedents.
  • You'll ensure that corporate legal risks are managed and escalated as necessary.
  • You'll ensure compliance with local corporate legal requirements (and other applicable legislation).
  • You'll support your colleagues in the Corporate Legal team on corporate legal and governance tasks with respect to the listed entity as time permits.
  • You'll manage corporate legal disputes, as and when they arise.
  • You'll oversee and manage one or two paralegals / junior lawyers to support all entities within the legal entity structure.
  • You'll be part of a fantastic team of legal experts across multiple markets, but will also need to be comfortable working independently, applying specialised knowledge with minimal supervision and limited input from external experts.
  • As a good communicator, you're able to answer questions and present information in an easy-to-understand way. Balancing legal risk with commerciality and pragmatism is key to success.

Can you deliver?

Here are the skills and experience we need from you:

  • Legal professional qualified in the Netherlands, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience in corporate law, preferably from a combination of private practice and in-house roles.
  • A quick learner with a "can do" attitude and a strong academic record.
  • In depth knowledge of corporate law and the application in various jurisdictions.
  • Outgoing and proactive, confidence working across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills and drafting skills.
