To enable the ongoing energy transition with increased electrification and reduced emissions Vattenfall is making large investments in our heating plants. Now we are looking for you who want to join us on this journey as an Electrical Engineer.
Vattenfall Heat Projects develops and implements all of Vattenfall's new-build heating plant projects in conventional and new technologies.
The Engineering Department consists of an international team of highly qualified engineers from different disciplines and is responsible for the development and execution of the technical project stream.
A selected project team of engineers manages the development and execution processes and coordinates the installation, commissioning and hand-over of the new plants to the future operator in consultation with the stakeholders. In addition, the engineering department supports the projects with schedule preparation, investment cost estimation, quality management and quality standards.
In order to support the development and implementation of our technical activities in an extensive project portfolio, we are looking for the following team member for Vattenfall.
What will you do?
As an Electrical Engineer, your tasks are varied and crucial to the success of a project. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Oversee all electrical-related activities throughout the project lifecycle, including development, establishment, and realization phases.
- Coordinate electrical engineering activities and manage interfaces with other disciplines.
- Lead the preparation of electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams.
- Provide technical coordination for tasks related to electrical grid connection, energy dissipation, protection technology, load flow, short-circuit calculations, and real-time simulations.
- Participate in negotiations of electrical grid connection contracts and specify electrical components according to international regulations and standards.
- Support procurement processes, including the preparation of ITT parts, bid evaluation, and participation in negotiations.

Your profile:
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:
- Holds a relevant University degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on electrical power engineering.
- Proficient in both Dutch and English, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Possesses a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction within the industrial plant sector, with a preference for expertise in heat and power generation.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of electrical engineering and practical experience in the realization of power and heat generation plants, as well as process engineering plants.
- Proficient in high, medium, and low voltage systems, uninterruptible power supply, control cabinets, drives, switchgears, transformers, electrical systems, generators, and installation technology.
- Exhibits leadership qualities and analytical skills, with the ability to establish a structured approach to work for both oneself and the team.
- Self-propelling attitude and a strong focus on health, safety, and safety in design.
