Introduction:

We are looking for our next Development Manager in DCS Global Stream in the department of DCS Global Stream 2.

Role:

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for several development teams working on the same product family within the Airports and Parcels Software Development Center. Through your leadership, you will ensure that the developed software is of high quality, meets requirements and specifications, and is delivered on time. Yo will also ensure that development teams follow best practices and industry-standard tools and processes. You'll have the opportunity to work with multiple development and product management teams in an international context.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that products under your responsibility are delivered on time and meet requirements. This involves considering the dynamic nature of business needs and managing business and technical priority conflicts.
  • Playing a leadership role in continuous improvement of the development of complex software systems/products/technologies, ensuring the implementation of best practices for the entire product development lifecycle and aligning these practices with those of our overall organization.
  • Removing development obstacles and ensuring that your teams have what they need to deliver their product.
  • Working closely with software architects and solution architects to help define our products and make cost estimates.
  • Collaborating with Product Managers, POs, and architects to refine and define features and acceptance criteria necessary to meet the roadmap.
  • Acting as a mentor and coach for your resources who may be located in different countries.
  • Managing HR tasks associated with your resources (recruitment and hiring, onboarding, evaluations, etc.).
  • Proposing growth and development strategies (growing current teams, creating new teams, outsourcing, hiring consultants, etc.) and initiating hiring processes and equipment purchases.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and quality of development and conducting necessary improvement work based on quality and velocity indicators, communicating these indicators with the management team and other stakeholders.
