About the Team: The Opportunity Awaits

As a part of the Mendix Cloud Backups team, you will play a vital role in constructing and maintaining a comprehensive backup solution for our customers worldwide. Our team ensures the safety and security of applications through continuous backups, with a remarkable track record of uptime and performance.

Currently, our Backups solution is undergoing a crucial transformation, focusing on maintaining stability during our migration process. In addition, we are making a significant shift from Cloudfoundry to Kubernetes, offering a unique opportunity for unparalleled growth and development within a larger organization.

About the Role: Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Mendix Cloud Backups team, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and managing the application backup solution for a vast ecosystem of applications.

Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our backup infrastructure, safeguarding the diverse application ecosystem with streamlined data protection measures.

We are on the lookout for a skilled Senior Software Engineer who shares our passion for innovation and possesses the technical prowess to contribute to our dynamic team focused on enhancing and overseeing the backups service as a critical component of our Cloud product.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • 6+ years of software development experience
  • Hands-on proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for building scalable systems
  • Strong grasp of cloud computing and experience with AWS services
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code principles and tools like Terraform
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and comprehensive monitoring setups
  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and work efficiently in Agile environments
  • Prior experience with CI/CD processes, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies
  • Dedication to code quality and leading by example with clean practices

Experience with Python scripting, containerization technologies, CI/CD tools, Mendix, or relevant certifications will be a bonus.
