As an NDT inspector you have a crucial role in detecting unsafe and unreliable components that could have catastrophic consequences.

The aircraft components you inspect and control are used in landing gear for the F-16 fighter jet, the Apache attack helicopter, the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), the Reaper (Drone), the Chinook, and the multipurpose NH90 helicopter.


This is what you'll do:
As an NDT inspector you'll work together with a young and enthusiastic team in the Surface Treatment department. In a daily briefing, you'll discuss the plan and ongoing projects with your colleagues.

Sometimes, urgent tasks from Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) come up alongside "new builds"; then, we'll decide together who takes care of them.

You'll work with high-quality products that must meet strict quality standards.

You can imagine that the parts you handle are subjected to extreme conditions and stress (salt, sand, extremely low and high temperatures, etc.).

Varied work? Absolutely One moment you'll be working on a hook used by a JSF during landing on an aircraft carrier.

The next moment, you'll be working on cylinders and pistons for Apache or NH90 helicopters.

Here are some of your tasks:


You'll perform material examinations according to internal GKN Fokker specification(s) and/or customer specification(s) using the Penetrant Testing (PT) and/or Magnetic Testing (MT) methods.

You'll ensure the quality and safety of parts for landing gear, thereby preventing errors in subsequent production.
You'll assess deviations and determine preventive and corrective measures based on applicable standards and procedures.
You'll create work instructions for inspection activities.
Additionally, as an NDT inspector NDO Level, you'll be responsible for conducting hardness tests.
Once finished, you'll interpret the inspection results and make a judgment on the quality of the performed work.

After updating the part's documentation, it often goes to the department performing the next production step, such as special processes, where the part is galvanized or coated with a cadmium or chromium layer.

You have a keen eye for product quality and safety and the drive to develop yourself into an authority in NDT within aviation technology.

What else do you have?

You have a vocational level of education, are technically proficient through education and/or experience (in the metal industry).
You possess demonstrable theoretical and practical knowledge of NDT inspection methods (MPI and FPI) (certified Level 2 Inspector). You have practical experience with PT and MT inspection techniques and preferably hold an NEN-EN 4179 certification.
You are proficient in communication and also speak English well (due to English-language work instructions).
