Purpose of Role
In this role, you will take charge of overseeing the project management from conception to implementation of our new 3PL Distribution House in Almelo, Netherlands, and its subsequent day-to-day operations post-launch.
The Senior Lead, Central Distribution House is responsible for spearheading the Project Management of our new distribution center, from finalizing the solution design to execution post contract approval. You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from our current setup to Go Live. Regular updates to Senior Leadership on progress will be essential to ensure timelines, costs, and contractual commitments are met.
As the Distribution Senior Manager, you will supervise activities to meet strategic objectives, focusing on quality, cost, and service delivery. Managing a team of distribution professionals, you will lead the 3PL team in executing daily operations and achieving set objectives. Effective communication across functions is crucial to maintaining optimal workflow and driving financial performance while upholding service levels for all business channels.
You will work closely with other Supply Chain functions such as Transport, Logistics, and Customer Operations, in coordination with the Global FP&A team.
Frequent travel to the Almelo site will be required during the setup phase, with regular on-site presence post-implementation.
Your Impact
- Overseeing day-to-day project management of the new DH, from design verification to delivery, leading key actions
- Collaborating with 3PL partners and internal SMEs to optimize the new solution
- Owning internal communications on progress, leading meetings across functions, and driving financial & executive directives
- Directing all operational activities on-site and managing the 3PL partner
- Partnering with cross-functional teams on critical KPIs affecting service, including fill rates, order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, ATP reporting, and warehouse performance
Qualifications
- Visionary leader with a results-driven approach
- Strong people management skills for direct & indirect reports
- Prior experience in Project Management or relevant Qualification (e.g., Prince 2) preferred
- Excellent communicator adept at summarizing and presenting complex data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Business Objects-based reporting
- Financial acumen is crucial
- Bachelor's Degree
- Over 10 years of experience in supply chain operations or project/process management
- Over 10 years of experience in people management
Workplace Location
- Location: Almelo/Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Hybrid setup during construction phase – 4 days on site) Return to Work Designation: On-site primarily in Almelo once operational, with bi-weekly visits to the Amsterdam office – 4 days on site and/or at Amsterdam Office
