​Title: Senior Quantitative Analyst

Location: Amsterdam Area (On-site)

The Green Recruitment Company are partnered with an exciting business in the Energy Trading sector who are currently seeking a skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our dynamic trading support team in Amsterdam. As a Quantitative Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting trading functions, utilizing advanced analytical techniques and models to optimize trading strategies and drive profitability. This role will be based in our Amsterdam office, supporting our trading activities across global energy markets, including power, gas, and renewables.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize quantitative analysis and modelling techniques to support trading strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and potential risks.
  • Collaborate closely with traders and other stakeholders to develop and refine trading strategies.
  • Build and maintain quantitative models to assess market dynamics, pricing trends, and risk exposure.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of algorithmic trading strategies and automated trading systems.
  • Monitor and analyze market data, news, and regulatory developments to inform trading decisions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and trading guidelines.
Essential Attributes:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in quantitative analysis, preferably within the energy or financial markets.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative analysis techniques, statistical modeling, and optimization methods.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Professional Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Desired Attributes:
  • Professional certifications or advanced degrees in quantitative finance, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with algorithmic trading strategies, machine learning techniques, and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, including power, gas, and renewables, and their respective trading dynamics.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms, market data analysis tools, and data visualization techniques.
  • Fluency in additional languages would be advantageous, especially professional fluency in Dutch.
