Intern - Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences - BTS Analytics

The BTS Analytics department is a crucial hub in our organization, focusing on providing test support to Quality Control sites in Europe. Join us for an internship opportunity where you will have the freedom to showcase your own initiative.

Your internship assignment

As an intern, you will be developing a multiplex immunoassay to simultaneously measure six antigens in our vaccines. This innovative approach using Luminex bead technology aims to streamline the testing process. Your role will include various responsibilities such as validation of the multiplex assay, transfer to a higher wells format, and comparison with traditional ELISA tests.

  • Supporting validation of a multiplex assay for 6 antigens
  • Supporting transfer of 96-wells format to 384-wells format
  • Performing Luminex bead-couplings
  • Showing proof of principle of a new multiplex assay
  • Comparing performance of the multiplex assay to individual ELISA assays
  • Providing a fresh perspective within the department

What is required

  • A fourth-year student in Life Sciences, Applied Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Sciences
  • Familiarity with immunoassays, analytical tests, and biochemistry
  • Enthusiasm for lab work and collaboration
  • Seeking an internship with room for initiative
  • Fluency in English; Dutch language knowledge is a plus
  • Available for a 6-month period, full-time
