Treasury Manager, Global FX Risk Management

What this role entails - Purpose:

JT Group is exposed to significant Foreign Exchange (FX) risks from its daily operations. Annually, the group faces an FX exposure of around $10 billion from over 50 currency pairs, with an additional $3 billion from short-term exposures related to Accounts Receivables and Payables. The main objective of this role is to minimize the financial impacts of these exposures. The volatility caused by these FX risks affects our Profit and Loss statement, necessitating active management. Managing the hedge programs for JT Group requires a dedicated team. As the Treasury Manager, you will have several core responsibilities:

  • Manage the Commercial Balance Sheet hedging program: This involves overseeing hedging activities for more than 10,000 invoices generated each week, ranging from non-functional currency transactions within varying durations. These invoices include intercompany and third-party transactions for Accounts Receivables and Payables.
  • Handle all FX reporting for JT Group: Provide insights into FX impacts on Profits and Losses to departments like Corporate Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Oversee necessary IT adaptations: Ensure IT systems support an effective and updated hedging program.
  • Educate stakeholders: Inform local entities about the accounting implications of underlying exposures and hedge results.

Your responsibilities:

  • FX Risk Management: Supervise the global Commercial Balance Sheet Hedging program to mitigate non-functional AR & AP FX exposures.
  • Reporting: Manage all monthly and quarterly FX reporting requirements and explain FX movements within the Group.
  • Education: Stay informed about financial regulatory changes, educate colleagues on FX programs, and clearly communicate the purpose of hedging to external parties.
  • Project Management: Coordinate SAP improvement activities related to FX Risk management and align hedging programs with evolving business models.
  • SAP: Utilize SAP Exposure and Hedge Management modules effectively to understand and manage JTI's FX exposures.

Requirements:

  • MS/MSc in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. ACCA, CPA Preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Finance/Treasury/Accounting/Economics.
  • Fluency in English, French proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, and familiar with SAP and treasury systems.
