ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a proactive Enterprise Architect Lead to guide a team of IT Solutions Architects and actively support the growth of our Enterprise Architecture community. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical leadership with team oversight, participating in key project design activities while ensuring architectural alignment across solutions. The Enterprise Architect Lead will drive consistency, align projects' solution architecture with organizational objectives, and contribute to an evolving enterprise architecture roadmap that supports digital transformation and innovation.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Development
  1. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of four IT Solutions Architects, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  2. Manage team members' appraisals, assessing performance and supporting their professional development.
  3. Drive consistency in architectural practices, promoting knowledge-sharing and skill-building across the team.
  4. Oversee the quality of EA deliverables, ensuring adherence to standards, and project-specific requirements.
Enterprise Architecture Vision and Strategy
  1. Collaborate with the EA community to define and implement an architectural vision aligned with business goals and evolving technological landscape.
  2. Contribute to the development of a technology roadmap, bridging current capabilities with future-state architecture.
  3. Understand our complex application landscape and identify opportunities to rationalize and harmonize it.
  4. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, and best practices, assessing their potential impact on the company's EA.
Solution Architecture Design and Execution
  1. Lead IT solution architecture design activities across Business projects portfolios ensuring adherence to SBM's IT standards and guidelines.
  2. Engage with project teams from initial qualification through RFI/RFP phases, developing solution recommendations & High-Level designs that balance cost, security, and technical requirements.
  3. Work closely with business and IT stakeholders to deliver architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned with both project and IT requirements.
  4. Maintain accountability for solution architecture deliverables, including solution cartography within our EA tool.
Continuous Improvement and Governance
  1. Regularly review and update reference architectures to address technological advancements, and emerging risks.
  2. Maintain governance processes that ensure solution architecture assurance and compliance across the portfolio.
  3. Define principles, standards, and patterns that guide consistent, future-ready solution architecture.
  4. Support the roadmap for the evolution of Microsoft products ensuring alignment with the EA vision.
  5. Collaborate with IT delivery teams to optimize solution design and refine reference architectures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Our preferred candidate for the role of Enterprise Architect Lead has a master's degree in computer science, IT, or equivalent. Minimum three years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record in technical leadership and in designing solution architecture including cloud solution technologies. This is a senior role, requiring solid experience, to support SBM Offshore Digital Transformation from our current IT solutions architecture maturity to an end-to-end blueprint and technology roadmap. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally, and experience working with global teams in various time zones.

In addition to this, you preferably have knowledge, experience, and competencies in the following subjects:

  1. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
  2. Ability to understand the long-term ('big picture') as well as short-term perspectives of situations
  3. Strategic thinking with the ability to balance big-picture vision and project-specific detail
  4. Ability to quickly develop a solid business acumen linked to the oil and gas industry
  5. Ability to translate projects' requirements into IT solution architecture requirements
  6. Excellent analytical and technical skills
  7. Strong expertise in end-to-end Solution design (holistic view of building blocks)
  8. Expertise in Interfacing with Strategic IT Vendors such as Microsoft
  9. Expertise in Cloud Infrastructure Technologies & design (Azure / Azure Vmware / Azure Kubernetes)
  10. Expertise in modern Application Development Technologies & design (Low Code / Power Platform)
  11. Expertise in Integration Technologies & design (Azure Integration Services / Tibco EBX / Boomi)
  12. Expertise in Data Platform Technologies & design (Azure Data Lakehouse)
  13. Good knowledge of Agile/Devops methodology
  14. Good knowledge of Enterprise Architecture framework & tool (Mega Hopex is a plus)
  15. English language mandatory
