Position Overview:

The in-house M&A team is responsible for driving the company’s growth through strategic acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and joint ventures. Acting as a strategic partner to executive leadership, the team identifies, evaluates, and executes opportunities that align with the company’s long-term goals and enhance shareholder value.

The team works cross-functionally with internal departments and external advisors to manage the full M&A lifecycle—from opportunity identification to post-merger integration—ensuring seamless execution and value creation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Analysis and Deal Sourcing:

  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate potential acquisition, divestiture, and partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and targets in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, advisors, and industry stakeholders to stay informed on market developments.

Financial Modeling and Valuation:

  • Prepare financial models and perform valuation analyses (DCF, multiples, etc.) to assess the viability of potential transactions.
  • Evaluate synergies, risks, and long-term financial impact of potential deals.

Due Diligence:

  • Lead or coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes, engaging internal teams and external advisors (e.g., legal, tax, financial, operational).
  • Identify and assess potential risks, liabilities, and opportunities associated with transactions.

Transaction Execution:

  • Support or lead negotiations on key transaction terms, including pricing, structuring, and contracts.
  • Manage external advisors, including investment banks, consultants, and law firms, to ensure smooth and timely deal execution.

Integration Planning:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop integration strategies and execution plans.
  • Monitor post-deal performance and ensure delivery of expected synergies and strategic outcomes.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Prepare presentations and reports for executive management, board members, and other stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Act as a key point of contact between internal and external stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • 3-7+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting or private equity, preferably in an international or cross-border context.
  • Proven track record in deal execution and managing complex transactions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools).
  • Fluent proficiency in Dutch and English.
