Role Purpose 

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution and successful delivery of projects. This position serves as a client facing role, involved with overseeing and management of technical projects from conception to completion. The Technical Project Manager is an important link between Northshore's Engineering Consulting team, Client Site Operatives, and Contactors. They are tasked with ensuring that project objectives are met while adhering to technical specifications, budgets, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Project Scoping and Planning 

  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to gather and analyse project requirements 
  • Translate briefs into detailed project scopes, including timelines and cost estimates 
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, milestones, and deliverables 

2. Vendor Management and Procurement 

  • Identify and engage suitable contractors for project execution 
  • Manage tender processes, including preparation of RFPs, evaluation of proposals, and contractor selection 
  • Negotiate contracts and establish service level agreements with vendors 

3. Project Execution and Monitoring 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans using appropriate project management tools 
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies 
  • Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery 

4. Stakeholder Management and Communication 

  • Oversee project delivery and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations 
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide updates to all relevant parties 
  • Manage the sign-off process with stakeholders at key project milestones and completion 

The ideal candidate for this role should have: 

  • Relevant experience within the Building Services, Mission Critical Sector (1 – 2 Years) 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities 
  • Proficiency in creating and managing project budgets, schedules and execution plans 
  • Degree in STEM preferred 
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, sustainable building design, Building Management Systems, energy codes and standards. 
  • Desire to build and foster long term client relationships 

Location and Travel 

The role is remote and any work whilst not on site will be home based. The preference is for the candidate to be based in the Netherlands. Travel to client sites is to be expected for up to 40-60% of the time.
