Introduction

Our Metrology department facilitates solutions that can quickly measure imaging performance on silicon wafers and feeds that data back into the lithography system in real-time, helping to keep lithography performance stable in high-volume chip manufacturing. 

At ASML our metrology software orchestrates the behavior of powerful mechatronic modules, so that together they achieve an extraordinary combination of speed and accuracy. For example, one such module (a wafer stage), accelerates faster than a fighter jet to enable the ASML machine to position a silicon wafer in less than a second, with nanometer accuracy As well as using metrology systems to position wafers, ASML also uses metrology systems to measure and compensate for sub-nanometer inaccuracies that inevitably creep in due to material imperfections, temperature fluctuations, and/or atmospheric pressure changes. To achieve such challenging results, the best metrology systems ever imagined are required.

For our department Imaging Metrology DUV we are looking for a Python Software Test Engineer, who enjoys translating functional requirements into software designs and specifies test cases to verify the requirements implemented

Job Description

Solutions of the Metrology Functional Group are implemented in software by the Metrology Software Department. Your role is to bring in expertise on how to qualify the software implemented in your team, allowing fast and efficient delivery of complex metrology functions.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Collaborate with other Software Engineers to design, implement and test features;
  • Provide first-hand feedback to the team on the quality of developed features;
  • Identify test improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the test cases;
  • Produce well-organized, optimized and documented source code in Python;
  • Contribute to technical design documentation;
  • Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard.
     

Education

Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent is strongly preferred.


Experience

  • We have a strong preference for senior experienced Software Engineers (object oriented design);
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting;
  • A proven track-record in C and Python
  • Extensive work experience with Linux;
  • You have a good understanding of mathematical and physical concepts and translating them to clean software test cases;
  • Experience with software architecture / modular architecture and a general understanding of how software concepts map to machine behavior;
  • Experience with software design patterns, Gmock / Gtest and code versioning (GitHub);
  • Experience with applying test strategies and test techniques;
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies;
  • Requirements engineering;
  • Software test case engineering;
  • Experience with maintenance of large code bases.


Nice to have

  • Experience with model driven engineering / modelling.
