This internship provides exposure to wafer handling and precision mechanics in vertical furnace batch reactors for the semiconductor industry.Key Learning ObjectivesGain experience in statistical modelling.Practical characterization of current Wafer Handling Robot.Learn and apply effects of tolerances, tolerances stack up and statistical analyses to determine budget for handling wafers.Model development for practical use into calculate wafer handling budget and optimize carrier parameters.Learn to work with our hardware through hands-on building and testing to validate the tolerance modelKey Responsibilities Create model (based on an existing model of our previous product)The previous model is in excel. Other way is also OK as long as it is transferable, like python.Analyze design requirements and identify critical dimensions for wafer handling components.Develop tolerance models using appropriate engineering principles and statistical methods.Perform validation testing to confirm model accuracy against real-world conditions.Document findings and recommendations for improving tolerance specifications and process reliability.Present progress in weekly meeting.Collaborate and discuss results with engineers and scientists.Present progress in engineering group meeting (monthly)Preferred QualificationsCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Aerospace Engineering, or related field.Knowledge of tolerance analyses and statisticsAbility to set up and solve models in Excel, Python, etc.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented research environment.What You’ll GainHands-on experience in tolerance modeling for precision systems like wafer handling equipment.Practical application of GD&T principles and statistical tolerance analysis in a real-world engineering context.Skill development in CAD tools for design review and tolerance stack-up analysis.Understanding of validation testing methods to ensure design accuracy and reliability.Collaboration experience with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality).Technical documentation and reporting skills for engineering deliverables.Apply Today To Be Part Of What’s Next.We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world.
