IT Administrator

We are looking for an IT System Administrator to join our Center of Excellence in Leiden. In this role, you will maintain and develop our local IT infrastructure, support software development and delivery activities, assist in system installations for customer projects, and contribute to project deliveries for the Terma Ground Segment Suite (TGSS) and CCS solutions.Lijkt deze vacature u wat? Scroll naar beneden om de volledige functieomschrijving te lezen.You will work closely with R&D, Project Management, and Corporate IT to ensure robust, secure, and efficient environments supporting our engineering and customer operations.Tasks:After an initial phase-in period to acquire an in-depth knowledge of Terma Group activities, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Test Lab MaintenanceMaintain and administer the test lab infrastructure supporting software development and validation.Manage operating systems including Windows and Linux (OpenSUSE, RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.).Configure and manage containerized environments using Docker, Podman, and Harbor.Automate deployment and configuration tasks using Ansible.Maintain MySQL databases.Support Software Development and Delivery ActivitiesSupport Terma-NL’s VMware infrastructure, including basic virtual machine administration.Maintain internal services including SVN server, LDAP server, TGSS Web Server, and CCS5 Wiki.Administer GitLab and assist with cloud-based environments (AWS / Azure).Support ProjectsConfigure physical servers and workstations.Perform installations of Linux and Windows environments.Apply basic networking knowledge for setup and troubleshooting.Support VMware-based deployments.Assist with TGSS demonstrations and project deliveries.Support project teams during installation, configuration, and acceptance phases.IT Coordination and CybersecurityAct as the interface between the Leiden office and Terma’s Corporate IT department.Monitor cybersecurity alerts, inform internal product owners, and contribute to mitigation activities.Show initiative in cybersecurity topics; training can be provided as needed.Additional / Occasional TasksSupport Terma service contracts at ESA ESTEC when required.Assist Corporate IT with internal support tickets if workload permits.Key QualificationsThe candidate shall have an university degree or equivalent in a technical subject and at least 3 years’ experience of a IT Management role, preferably in an operational 24/7 and/or service-provision environment. Mandatory knowledge, experience and skills required The ideal candidate will have as many of the following competencies as possible (order is not prioritized):A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.Solid experience with Linux and Windows system administration.Experience with Docker, Podman, Harbor, Ansible, and MySQL.Basic VMware Administration knowledge.Familiarity with SVN, LDAP, and GitLab administration.Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).Experience with cloud services (AWS and/or Azure).Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and willingness to learn.Interest in cybersecurity and proactive self-learning in this domain.Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience in the space or aerospace sector, or familiarity with mission control systems (CCS5, TGSS), will be considered an advantage.Working LocationThis is a full-time position to be located at Terma’s premises in Leiden, The Netherlands with an expected start date as soon as possible.What can Terma offerAt Terma, we consider skilled employees, enthusiasm and job satisfaction as the very foundation of our success and as a prerequisite for the development of the “best-in-class” solutions that Terma provides.
